Valentine's Day Rant

Alright this has really been bugging me for some time now.

Color me an asshole, but people are so fucking bitter and cynical about Vday.

No...but really.

And it's not me just saying that because I'm engaged and have a family.

Because for 18...yep, you heard me right...18 years I didn't have a Valentine.

My first kiss was at 16 and my first boyfriend was at 18.

But all those years leading up to my first time celebrating Valentine's Day I was never mad or angry. Sure I wanted someone to celebrate with, but I knew in time that would come.

If I have to hear one more person bitch about how commercialized this holiday is I'm going to round-house kick them to the teeth.

The only way this holiday is commercialized is if you let it be...you realize that no one has a fucking gun to your head forcing you to buy cards, expensive jewelry, a dozen roses, and stupid teddy bears no one really wants, right?...it's YOU.

And regardless of that...so the-fuck what.

Let people buy chocolate and whatever else the fuck they want and get off your stupid bitter soapbox.

You're so busy bitching about this ridiculous holiday, when you clearly can't see how similar it is to so many others...

Helllllo....Mother's day and Father's is the EXACT SAME THING.

But instead of expressing your love to your significant other or kids it's your parents.

Are you gunna rant and rave about that now?

No.

Because that would be a dickhead move on your part about not celebrating your parents.

IT'S THE SAME THING.

So instead of showing our gratitude and love for our parents it's for our boyfriends, fiances, husbands, partners, children...whatever.

WHY is that a bad thing?

Like it boggles my mind.

And don't even try and give me any of that bs about how we should show our love every day of the week because by the same token should we not be showing love and appreciation to our parents every day as well.

Ugh..

AND THEN people are on Facebook are all...

Just stop.

Stop now.

Boys are dumb, they'll always be dumb they will never ever see something like proposing on Valentine's day as cliche.

It's only cliche to women because we've seen it in the 404209238 romantic comedies we watch.

But guys will never see it as cliche, to them it's romantic.

And again...WHO THE FUCK CARES.

And you don't know their story!

Maybe they as a couple have a special significance with valentines day.

So stop being so damn cynical.

I just wish people would take a step back and see it for what it is.

A SPECIAL day to show love and be loved by the ones we love.

Not that we don't do it every day, but it's a day designed to express it maybe a bit more or take the time out of our busy schedules to stop and REALLY show our appreciation for one another.

I just thought I should share my frustration with you.

Holy Crap

Life has been a hot mess lately.

But not hot mess in the whole Miley cyrus sort of way.

But in the constant, nonstop, holy hell I'm busy sort of way.

Work is still awesome.

Bug is a beast and is now practically running.

And I just booked my fourth....yes, that's right FOURTH photo shoot for February!

Elated doesn't even begin to cover it.

I even have a return client! And another return client who will likely be booking in March.

It literally makes my heart happy.

And lezbehonest...my wallet fatter.

It is the greatest feeling in the world being paid to do something you're so passionate about.

I'm in the process (which is partially why I've been so absent lately) of creating my photography website which has been fun and exhausting all the same.

But with this many clients, it needs to be done.

Also Bug will be one in less than a month.



Yep.

Where has the time gone ...??

Which means I'm almost at my one year blogiversary too!

So between full time work, my photography business picking up, planning a birthday party, and making time for friends and family I have had zero bloggy time.

But Alas, I promise when the dust settles I will be posting regularly again, and once the website is up and working I'll share it with ya'll :)

The Kerin Update

So now it's time to update you on my life.

And we have some BIG updates.

I just added a new lens to my collection.

My Christmas gift to myself and I am obsessed.

This little beauty.

Need proof of it's amazingness?

And this was a quick, non-calculated shot that I was taking while I was hyperventilating over FINALLY getting my lens in.

I can't WAIT to take it out and see what it's really capable of!

It's a 50mm f/1.8 G AF-S Nikkor FX Lens and it will be perfect for my upcoming engagement shoot!

Another shoot, and I have my last bride-to-be to thank. Her new fiancé's brother proposed shortly after our shoot and that amazing girl gave the newly engaged couple MY name.

If you can't hear it by the way I'm typing I'm BEAMING.

I feel as though I'm forever indebted to her for helping me get my name out there.

And not only that, we have another shoot in the making.

YAY!

The apartment is amazing. It's slowly becoming more and more of a home as we get settled, I'll be sure to post more pictures as soon I get things together.

I'm praying our landlord lets us paint Bug's room since the colors are so off from the theme we had before, it just looks redonkulous.

And I suppose I'll update you on the biggest event of the New Year.

Boyfriend and I ARE ENGAGED!!!

Boyfriend...now fiance...proposed on New Years.

It was adorable, and don't say I said anything, but he got down on one knee in front of all our friends at midnight and was totally shaking like a little leaf.

It was SO CUTE.

It was kinda perfect for us considering our first kiss was 3 years prior on New Years.

I'm so excited to start a new chapter in our life together as a family!

And so is Sadee
